Abstract

[Excerpt] This Beyond the Numbers article uses Producer Price Index data to examine price movements for ethanol after the passage of the standard’s two versions—Renewable Fuel Standard 1 (2005) and Renewable Fuel Standard 2 (2007). The article also discusses the Renewable Fuel Standard’s impact on gasoline consumption and the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) volumetric targets.
